All Better Balm
Whenever my son gets any kind of injury, or experiences any kind of pain, he asks for “green and a bandaid.” He refers to all herbal salves as “green.” No matter what the complaint, if I apply “green” to the offending area and place a bandaid over top, he will then declare himself “all better!”
This balm is pretty wide-ranging in its applications, since its made with three all-star herbs: chickweed, yarrow, and plantain.
Chickweed is pretty famous for healing skin complaints. It’s full of nutrients that our skin loves, so it can do a lot with a little. I used chickweed salve exclusively to heal my son’s diaper rash whenever it occurred and it was always miraculous!
Plantain is amazing for the skin as well, and it has the amazing capacity to draw unwanted substances (venom, splinters, etc) out of wounds, like a vacuum! We love plantain for all of our summer bug bites.
Yarrow is an amazing all-purpose healer. There’s kind of nothing yarrow can’t do, but I especially love her wound-healing capacities. She’s an astringent so she can help knit tissues back together, which is pretty incredible!
I carry one of these with me everywhere I go and I have never regretted having it around.
All of the herbs were wildcrafted from my incredibly generous land in Manchester, CT. Fresh-infused into avocado oil and then blended with beeswax. No essential oil, preservatives, emulsifiers, or weird stuff you can’t pronounce!
A 2oz tin will last you a lifetime :)
