Solar Power Essence
Flower essences are vibrational imprints of flowers captured and preserved in water and alcohol, aided by the sun or moon. The essence of a flower works with our own essence on the energetic plane. Though subtle, they can be extremely potent and powerful medicine, especially for emotional and spiritual well-being.
Plants are very old, very wise beings with much to teach us. Working with them in the form of flower essences is a gentler, but sometimes more profound, way to learn from the plants than taking a medicinal dose of tea or tincture. They are often used for children, pregnant and nursing mothers, or highly sensitive people because they are so gentle. Flower essences are said to be great tools to assist our soul’s evolution during a lifetime.
Ways to use: Meditation, altar work, anointing, acupressure, in ritual baths, in water or other beverages, or directly on the tongue.
On those dark winter days, when you feel like you haven’t seen the sun in years, don’t you wish you could reach for a bottle of sunshine?
I made one for you :)
On the Summer Solstice 2024, the longest day of the year, I made an essence of St. John’s Wort flowers. I even harvested them during the Sun’s planetary hour to further amplify the already incredibly solar energy of this medicine.
St. John’s Wort is the premier solar herb. Its happy, cheerful flowers even look like the Sun with their bright cheery 5-pointed star shape. St. John’s is well-known in the modern world as being an herb “for depression,” but its power goes beyond this reductive description. It brings the light into the soul when you are feeling dreary and gloomy and down and grey.
St. John’s Wort essence is all about light as well. According to the Flower Essence Society, it is indicated for “those persons who are quite sensitive or over-receptive to the effects of light; they may be fair-skinned, easily sunburned, or find themselves adversely affected by intense heat or light. They are prone to many forms of environmental stress, including allergies. These individuals often have a very active psychic life. St. John’s Wort flower essence has marvelous restorative powers; it provides protection and strength when the soul is in an overly expanded state. At its deepest level of transformation, St. John’s Wort helps the soul circulate light through the body and into the Earth.”
