Sun Tea Syrup
When it’s crazy hot outside, it can be hard to think of drinking a cup of hot tea to get your daily dose of herbal medicine. Sun tea is a delicious summer beverage, usually made with cooling and moistening herbs to help support hot bodies in harsh summer weather. But sometimes you don’t want to wait the 4-6 hours for your tea to infuse in the sun! That’s when I reach for my sun tea syrup.
I created this blend to help myself and my son cool down on hot days playing outside. It is full of cooling, soothing, and relaxing herbs to help support us on long summer days in the sun. It is also stunningly delicious with the main flavor notes being hibiscus, mint, tulsi, and orange peel.
You can serve this syrup a few ways:
*add a splash to water! Easy peasy
*create an electrolyte drink: water + pinch of salt + splash of syrup + squeeze of citrus (I like lime for this particular blend). You can also include coconut water for extra hydration!
*add a splash to sparkling water with lime and mint for a refreshing herbal mocktail
*add a splash to a cocktail for extra herbal support and deliciousness
You can’t go wrong!
Ingredients: hibiscus, lemon balm, spearmint, rose hips, tulsi, lemon verbena, tangerine peel, raw honey
